Jaw popping

by April C.
(California)

Hello, I am 30 years old and had shingles about a month ago in my med back, right side. I am usually a pretty healthy woman, now it seems that I am having multiple sickness.
Around 2 weeks my jaw was popping and it went a way within 2 days. The jaw popping return, I have been having headaches and Tylenol was not helping me. I have heard my right ear ring a couple of times, and hurt too a couple of times. I am not in pain, yet I am having so much discomfort, but when I sneeze or yawn it does hurt.
I am going to the doctor tomorrow, yet I do not know what is going on with me. Could the shingles have messed up my joints? or could it be cholesterol?
This is just too much for me.
Thank you
April

Hello April,

It sounds like your illnesses are causing a reduction in your pain threshold which causes fatigue in the jaw muscles. So, your clicking and pains in your jaws are secondary to your other stressors to the body.

See your physician about your illness as you stated. A night time night guard can help possibly if you have muscle tension in the morning hours. The Smartguard Elite is a good guard to start with.

Sincerely,
Dr. Spainhower
