Can your wisdom teeth be the cause of your TMJ?

Hello, Im pretty sure that I have tmj because I am experiencing popping sounds on one of my side jaw. I personally think that it may be because of my wisdom teeth because my dentist recommended me to take them out, due to the cause of my upper teeth are getting crooked. But the I just thought right now I have been moving my lower jaw for making sounds like for fun. But mostly I think it's my wisdom teeth.
